How to Start a Habit (And Stick With It)
So you want to see your body change…
Getting your nutrition and workouts down are key to results, but that’s usually easier said than done. It’s one thing to know WHAT to do and a whole other ballgame to know HOW to do it and make it last.
That’s where the Boss Bride Program comes in. We’re not just here to tell you what to eat and how to workout, we’re here to walk you through it - step by step, habit by habit - until making healthy choices becomes a consistent part of your lifestyle.
So here’s how to do it:
Pick ONE habit you want to work on each week or use the ones we filled in. (It can be drinking 100oz. of water, getting your workouts in, eating veggies at every meal, etc!)
Use our “How to Make a Habit Stick” tips below to anticipate challenges and plan for success.
Plot your workouts out so you know exactly how and when you’ll be getting your sweat on (we suggest shooting for five workouts per week!).
Every day that you do your habit, put a star, and every time you complete a workout, put a checkmark. Also totally here for start stickers, just sayin.
At the end of the week, give yourself a score. You get one point for every day you got a workout in (goal is 5), one point for each day you completed your habit, and one point for each day you ate three Perfect Plate meals.
Your goal is to hit 80% of your goals each week (so that’s 15 points out of a potential 19!)
How To Make a Habit Stick:
💥 Start Small. Break your new habit into the smallest task and build from there. Instead of saying "I'm going to drink 100oz. of water a day" say "I'm going to start my day with 16oz. of water each day this week". Once that becomes easy, add on to it.
💥 Break Down Barriers. Why don't you or haven't you done this in the past? What could come up to prevent you from doing this? If it's hard to remember to drink water, set an alarm in your phone. If you don't have access to water during the day, keep a case in your car!
💥 Make It Rewarding. You're more likely to do it if you feel "rewarded" by a new habit. If it's hard for you to drink water, add cucumbers and mint so it tastes good. Make a star chart and add a sticker every time you hit your water goal.
We know you want to go 0 to Barbie, but what really makes our brides hit their goals is focusing on adding one new lifestyle habit to work on each week! Ready, set, goal!
